I received this finally after a long wait,
its got lots of useful featured the only negative is the bad quality of the screen.
Mine has a big white spot on the backlight screen.
ProgressiveRC Comment: Thanks for your support and sorry for the issue with the screen, we have not seen this before. Please contact us if you'd like to get a replacement.
Needed a way to discharge LiPo packs; this product fits my needs. Like the fact this device can trigger a relay on pack voltage. Took about 20 minutes to figure my way around the software using the down loaded manual, lots of uses for this product might even brush my teeth.
I've had this thing for a bit and finally got to try it out today. The small disc which has the manual won't work in a practically new Win7 machine as the disc drive won't accept what comes with the meter. Trying to individually access files leads you to a website to download the USB interface stuff only it's in a .rav file or something like that which is compressed and Windows cannot open the thing.
While this thing may be capable of a lot of functions, it's worthless without a computer to readout what it's got and I don't know about you, but I do not take a computer flying.
Lastly, the readout is blue and so small as to be worthless, or at least it is to a 62 yr. old guy with bifocals.
The main reason I purchased the Powerlog 6S was to monitor the current draw on the speed control. I don't like doing the math, even though I use math in my job for calulating current flow, resistance and voltage.
When I am out flying, I find it quicker to plug in the Powerlog and test current flow while my planes are static. I can then adjust my prop size on the ground to get the most out of my power system, without over-taxing, ie. overheating the speed control.
I have not scratched the surface of all the features on this unit. Looking forward to doing that, at my leasure. But my main emphasis is on flying. I try to keep things quick and simple, and this unit has filled the bill.
Only downside is the screen is a little hard to see in some lighting conditions. Could be LCD backlit, like my Fluke.
Aside from that, a great bargain to help protect my equipment.
ProgressiveRC Comment: Glad you are enjoying the flexibility of this electric swiss army knife. One small correction - the screen IS backlit (like my Fluke). Okay, maybe not as bright as my green on black Fluke screen, but the backlighting on the PowerLog does help immensely :).
