Perfect for my uses. I've used the CellPro 10S for years and this one is even better. I use A123 cells and this one can charge up to 12S without having to use balance charging.
Being able to charge NiCad and NiMH batteries is a bonus and discharging to storage charge is great!
Simple to use and understand.
Progressive RC's service is absolutely fantastic! - I got a very good service from ProgressiveRC, very prompt and according to my wishes. I havent tested the XP fully yet but I read a lot about different chargers / vendors before making the decision. I believe it is a good choice.
- I bought this as a second lipo charger. I'm sure it's a great charger but it wasn't clear to me that I had to connect the battery discharge leads to it as well as the balance lead. I never fast charge, and I prefer to charge just through the balance lead, so it's not for me - I have already sold it.
- I can give only 4 stars for the FMA Cellpro 10XP because the first unit I received had a either a firmware or a hardware glitch that caused problems right away. However, David Gray at ProgressiveRC took charge of things immediately and rapidly sent out another unit, which is working flawlessly after several charge cycles. It appears that it will last for many, many charge cycles as my two Cellpro 10S units have for the past couple of years. The increased capabilities (battery types, pre-sets) and voltage input and amperage output make it a worthwhile upgrade for those needing a charger than can recharge larger packs, and fast! Almost all of my charging is 5Ah 10s packs for pattern flying, and it comfortably charges these in well under an hour with 13.6v power supply, and barely gets warm while doing it.
