I have to agree with the first reviewer. I just ordered female xt60's, also believing that the metal prongs would be the naming factor; instead, the metal prongs are just the opposite. The narrower plastic case is the male connector, which has the female metal receptacle.
I'll have to send them back for an exchange.
ProgressiveRC Comment: Please note that all of our connectors follow standard convention and are designated by the most outer housing, not the internal connectors or pins. This is done to avoid confusion where some connector housings contain a mix of female and male internal pins. Please refer to product photos and descriptions when ordering as well as our blog post on the subject here:
- There should be a better description of what is female or male. Other sites are listing what y'all call female as male. How would a regular person know that you look at the outside case and not the prongs. besides that - good quality & price
male and female might not be what you think! Submitted by Dave Anderson on 2/10/2014
