A JST male plug is based on the housing, rather than the plug. So a female plug is really a male plug and a male plug is really a female plug. What a load. Not only that Progressive customer service was rude. Bet this review will never see the light of day.

ProgressiveRC Comment: We apologize for the difficulty, there is often confusion on connector genders. We go to great lengths to make it clear, through product descriptions and photos, but it's still easy to mix up. We end up explaining it many times a day, so I also apologize if we came off as rude - in a nutshell, all connectors are classified by their external housing, not internal pins. The reason is, some connector housings have a mix of female and male pins internally - and that would get really confusing :).
