Horrible Customer and Product Support

I bought a Power Lab 8 with parallel board and in 30 days it did not work. I contacted FMA USA and they wanted $125 + shipping to fix it. It did not seem right that it would cost 70% the price of the new charger to fix it. The FMA USA representative was extremely hostile. I have never experienced that type of customer service or product support. Personally my advice would be check out the iCharger 308 Duo.

ProgressiveRC Comment: We make every effort to provide the highest level of support at ProgressiveRC and apologize that the manufacturer's level of support did not meet the customer's expectations.

Outstanding charger!

I already have a Powerlab 8 but my other brand Charger was accidentally blown and I needed a replacement fast! I love the Powerlab 8 as I also use the Bump Controller so I can quickly set charging with each battery and can connect the replacement charger as node 2. Yours was the last available charger in stock so I quickly ordered it. Thanks for the quick service!

Could not be happier

Excellent product, quick shipping, best price, what's not to love? Seriously this is a great charger. A real workhorse. Amazing reliability. This is my second PL8 the first is about 10 years old! I have been running that one charging parallel at 40 amps on 24v supply the whole time. FWIW I upgraded the software on my old one at one point and and due to a bad connection in my power supply (totally my fault) I had to have it serviced once. So its upgradeable and FMA can service it if needed. These are the best at what they do, period.

PL8

this is my 2nd PL8 and I think it is the best charger out there, I use them with the bump controller and I can charge many batteries at the same time. Progressive RC makes the purchase easy and delivery is fast,

Works Great

Due to Family being in town and Hurricane Michael brushing our area, I was not able to try out the Power Lab 8 until now. So far the unit works great and gives a lot of information. Just learning how to process all of what it is telling you will be a learning curve. Not a big one but more than most chargers give you. One thing I noticed as soon as I fired up the unit was the firmware is V3 and not V2. This is not Progressive's fault but FMS only has the manual for the V2 firmware and nothing on the V3 firmware. I don't think there are a lot of differences but this needs to be addressed. The unit appears to be well made and sturdy. One problem I have is the power input is an EC5 connector, which is non-standard for EVERY power supply unit on the market. WHY? I had to build a custom cable just to power the unit up. If they want this type of input, please supply the adapter for the available power supplies that use banana jacks for connections.
