HDZero Camera Switcher 2
The HDZero Camera Switcher allows you to run two HDZero MIPI cameras on a single VTX and switch between them instantly in flight. Setup is simple: plug in your MIPI cables and assign Camera Control 1 to a switch in Betaflight, iNav, or ArduPilot. No soldering is required in the default configuration.
This unlocks powerful use cases such as day vs night vision (IR-cut vs IR-cut-removed cameras), forward vs downward views, rear-view cameras on RC cars, or wide vs zoom lenses. Switching is nearly instantaneous when using two cameras of the same generation. For advanced builders, the board also supports VTX-only control, manual GPIO control, and daisy-chaining to run more than two cameras.
The HDZero Camera Switcher was created by HDZero enthusiasts AviPhysics and HereComesWhitey, who identified the need for reliable multi-camera switching and engineered a robust solution from the ground up. GeoffSim developed the VTX control software that enables fast switching and easy integration with FC firmware. HDZero manufactures and distributes the switcher as a formal product, demonstrating their ongoing commitment to collaborating with the community and bringing the best ideas directly into the HDZero ecosystem.
