Advanced charger - nice!!Review by joesmoe
It's expensive, which is why I didn't give a max rating for value..

Nice charger, allows for very advanced charging parameters for all types of cylinder cells. Quality could be a little bit better (pressing buttons feels a little cheap), but hopefully will be okay with careful usage. This charger is the next best thing compared to a hobby charger and much, much more convenient for cylinder cells.

UI takes a little bit to learn, but okay after that, you can do what you need to do. This charger should be able to handle most of my battery needs into the future.

Previous chargers: Maha C9000. This charger is like a Maha C9000 on steroids!

ProgressiveRC, good service, shipped the next day after ordering. Packaging was adequate. So far, so good - been testing with D NiMh (7000mAH), AA Eneloops and LiOn (18650, 17670). (Posted on 9/14/2019)

Best tool for $100Review by Sean
If you can spend $100 and want the best BUY THIS. If you do not need to charge Li batteries and want great instead of supper amazing get the Opus for $35.
This dream charger has amazing accuracy and is extremely versitile. If the settings are to complex for you, you can set it to DUMMY mode. It has 8 buttons (some chargers have 1 button), can be controled by a blutooth app, or hooked to a PC. App is not perfect- but it is an amazing tool. I can check on charger, view voltage graph, change opperations all with my phone anywhere in the house.

Check out to learn more about batteries.

To MC3000 App program team,

It is so amazing that there is an app for this charger! Thank you for that. There are some small changes that would make it better.

*GSV settings not transfered to app.
-When charger set to Fahrenheit in GSV, app will display temp as 78゚C. The correct number, however wrong symbole. Then when one trys to pick cut off temp in app that is still in Celsius.

*Break in mode got stuck at discharge.
-When trying to break in new 800 mAh AAA rechargable batteries the charger got the voltage down to 1V in 3 hours, however it droped the discharge current to .01/.00 and gets stuck- after sitting at 1V for 9 hours I gave up.

*Selection should be columns with different units.
-Time: Minutes coulmn & hours coulmn
-Current: Amps coulmn, milliAmps coulmn, C-rate coulmn

*Type input feild for options when programing. To set time cut to 16 hours a user has to scroll to 900. (e.g. User can type 16 under hours coulmn for 16 hours)

*Explinations- It would be good if when a user holds on a term a screen pops up and shows the deffinition and explains reccomended setting. A lot of this can be copy and pasted from the manual.

*Settings icon should let user change settings. PGM could be program.

I understand Discharge Cut Voltage and Discharge Current. However, what is Discharge Cut Current? I could not find this anywhere in the manual.

ProgressiveRC Comment: During discharge current tapers off as it approaches the set Discharge Cut Voltage, the current at which discharge terminates is the Discharge Cut Current.

Most flexible and precise charger for single cellsReview by Dennis
This is the most flexible charger on the market for single cells. If you: have very small LiIon cells (like 10440) that require low charging currents for longevity, need to partially charge LiIon cells for storage, or need to test cells, this charger is one of *very* few that offer these features. It also supports high current for fast charging the largest cells. Whatever type of cell you're charging, this is the most precise charger available allowing you to maximize the capacity and longevity of the cells being charged. If you need to charge individual cells not multi-cell packs, and are looking for one charger that can do anything - this is it.

On the downside the user interface is a bit quirky and has steep learning curve compared to other chargers. So if you just need to charge large numbers of medium to large batteries this may not be the charger for you. The build quality is good but not great - it equals other good chargers but doesn't surpass them. (Posted on 11/25/2018)
Good product. Outstanding service.Review by Darren
I've only used my new SkyRC MC3000 charger a few times now but I'm extremely pleased with its build quality and performance. Now I really want to *rave* about the great service from ProgressiveRC. My order was processed instantly and shipped within hours. I literally received it less than 24 hours after ordering. On an international order! (I'm in Canada.) So between ProgressiveRC and DHL ... I am blown away by fast and professional order handling and I say this as a frequent Amazon Prime user. I don't expect this charger will wear out or break in my lifetime, but ProgressiveRC will absolutely be my go-to for anything else that they sell. Thank you. (Posted on 11/12/2018)
Last Charger You May Ever Need!Review by VR
Liked my first MC3000 so much I bought a 2nd one. This one is the latest version with 2 fans and improved battery contact terminals. Got rid of all my other chargers. Yes it's about twice as expensive as the next best one but it's worth it to me for the versatility, accuracy and the up gradable firmware which provides a large degree of future proofing. Progressive provides a good price with the benefit of warranty service here in the USA. Prompt service, my order was shipped the next day. You won't find a better cylindrical cell charger. Great multichemistry cyndrical cell chargerReview by albert
I'm able to charge many different size and chemistry of cylindrical cell batteries with this charger that's capable of connecting to a PC (usb) or Bluetooth Android device,

Has many different charge settings and options built into it's firmware. I'd say one of the best chargers of it's type on the market.

However there are a few area which it could use some improvement, which may or may not be of importance.

It's built-in LCD display is small and not easy to read. The charger comes with PC battery monitor software. However the software has problems displaying on various monitors as there is no screen sizing built into the app. The software has only one default screen size so if you monitor and PC settings exactly match the monitor software the displays can be read. If your monitor and video driver settings don't exactly match those built into the monitor software the PC app becomes useless as it not able to display correctly.

The built-in MC3000 LCD display screen isn't really all that well designed to display battery charging information partially due to it's screen size.

Other similar battery chargers I've looked don't have all the features and settings of the MC3000 but do a much better job of displaying basic battery charging data.

All that would be required is to re-write MC3000 PC monitor software so it's gui can be adjusted for various size PC graphic displays.

The Bluetooth Android App only works with Android devices running Android OS version 4.3.x and higher.

So if your Android device is running Android OS 4.2 or lower the the MC3000 Android Bluetooth app won't work.

Other than problems mentioned of displaying data, the MC3000 imo is superior to most all similar multi-chemistry cylindrical cell chargers on the market. It has a robust of features and settings that can't be found with other similar chargers on todays market.

Runs from 12 volt (DC jack) input and has it's own built-in fan for charging unit temperature control. Each charging slot is monitored for temperature along with a system temperature for the entire unit.

MC3000 supports all common round battery sizes and chemistries in 4 independent slots, has numerous safety mechanisms to protect user, device, and batteries from harm, offers maximum charge rate of 3A/slot, true constant current for both charging and discharging, analyzing capability, PC & Bluetooth 4.0 monitor & control, user calibration, high accuracy and an intuitive user interface, while the updatable firmware ensures flexibility to respond to user demands and future market or technology changes.

The UI can be switched between Dummy, Simple and Advanced menu modes. The advanced menu lets the user control every single technical parameter of the operation mode whereas a simpler mode with less options may be more convenient for quick everyday usage. The key concept behind the UI are the numbered user programs: the MC3000 comes with 30 editable programs and whenever the user is operating a slot, he/she is indeed operating a particular numbered program in that slot and therefore should be well aware of the program number itself! The 30 programs are defined globally: any ready slot can run the identical program simply by the user assigning the same program number to the slot. And that is done fast and efficiently

The 128×64 LCD screen features five common views which the user should be familiar with:

The total overview (TOV) is the main view where other views automatically revert to after periods of user inactivity. In tabular format, it shows at a glance the most important bits of information about the operation of the slots. TOV is also used for displaying quick info lines or error messages, for example at abnormal program termination.

The MC3000 has numerous explicit options with their respective parameters which the user can check or control. The more general settings are accessible through SETUP in the global setup view (GSV). They affect the operation of the entire device, not only of a single slot or program.

In slot programming view (SPV) the user can either swiftly change the program to a different program and or edit its detailed settings. Each of the four slots is independent and can run any of the 30 global programs.

Naturally the slot operation view (SOV) is available for active slots only, i.e. slots with an ongoing or finished program. Apart from the most basic info already given in TOV, it also shows additional quantities such as energy, power, resistance, temperature, and time.

The diagram drawing view (DDV) provides a quick qualitative overview of the voltage graphs and of the system temperature graph over time. The graphs are available for active slots and live for
busy slots.

Basically very good productReview by Mustapha, Algeria
I have received the charger a week ago. The first impression is that it is versatile, the menu is simple & intuitive and the manual is clear. I think I can refurbish NIMH/LION batteries with good results by combining it with Xtar Dragon. Hope so. (Posted on 2/2/2017)
My all-in-one solutionReview by KJ6MC
This one device replaced three other chargers that I had clogging up my workbench. It a rare device that offers incredible flexibility to be as simple or as complex as the user requires. I use a lot of NiZn cells, and this charger recharges these in short order. It is built solid with a nice, beefy power supply. Yes, you can buy something cheaper, but you'll have to buy three or four chargers to replace this gem! (Posted on 9/23/2016)
Great battery charger and analyzer.Review by Patilhas
Once I started using the SkyRC MC3000 I quickly forgot its price tag and never regretted once. It came with a 40 page comprehensive manual that explains all its 3 operation modes and setup steps. The 8 button User Interface is easy to use even with its many steps in Advanced Mode. The Bluetooth APP is a really cool and gives you the option of naming all your program setups instead of just numbers as with the 8 button UI, now the Bluetooth and UI programs are two totally separate sets, the UI setups reside in the charger and the Bluetooth in you mobile device, this can be really useful for multi users. The PC Link I have not spent much time with but it’s another way monitor and control the charger it has some cool graphing. The charger accuracy is excellent (double checked with calibrated fluke 289), even the battery IR in line with my IR meter. This charger will make battery charging and analyzing a hobby thanks to ProgressiveRC excellent service and price.

Tons of features, powerful and versatile…….it's a shame they can't get the contacts worked out. It even tells you in the manual to "shift, suspend or tilt" until connection is made. Really? That's not a proper fix when you know there's a problem with your product. (Posted on 5/1/2016)
SKYRC MC3000Review by billcushman
The SkyRC MC3000 is the most flexible and accurate charger/analyzer for cylindrical batteries available today. For a very detailed analysis of the charger please read the following review by Henrik K. Jensen.

The MC3000 thread on CandlePowerForums is many pages long and is an excellent resource for information on the charger.

The MC3000 offers the capability and versatility of hobby chargers without having separate battery holders and connectors. The unit is easy to program once you become familiar with the charger. For anyone wanting the best and most capable universal high accuracy charge/analyzer for all chemistries and sizes of cylindrical batteries, this unit is highly recommended. (Posted on 2/18/2016)
